What’s involved in a Cake Smash and Splash?
A cake smash and splash is a fun and popular way to celebrate a child’s first birthday (or just capture some beautiful photos). It involves setting up a creative or colourful backdrop, with props to match, and letting the little one go wild with a cake. The cake becomes the centerpiece of the shoot, and the child gets to enjoy it as much as possible, by smashing it with their hands, feet, or face. After the fun is over, the child gets a bath and the photographer captures the splashy aftermath. It’s a fantastic way to capture the child’s emerging personality and creates memorable images for a family keepsake. The shoot usually lasts from 60 to 90 minutes, and the experience is both enjoyable and unforgettable.
