June saw In The Frame Photography Ltd’s Roisin (recently accredited Licentiateship in Photography with The Societies of Photographers ) shoot one of our most fascinating styled sessions to date.  Combining the talents of highly skilled models with the beautiful Matilda (caravan) against a backdrop of the great British countryside.  The end result was a session which produced images full of retro casual-glamour, colourful situational revelations, and a hint of bygone whimsey!

Models Charlie, Izzy, Meicha, and Mitchel made this session a pleasure to be a part of – providing an excellent example of the results we can achieve in the setting of a styled session.  But perhaps the star of the show was the 1964 vintage caravan known affectionately as “Matilda”!  This British beauty was built by Cheltenham fifty-four years ago and evokes the retro-whimsey of sixties-era British Isles getaways, from the heyday of caravan camping.

Matilda the Caravan has been modernised inside and was lovingly rebuilt to a high standard to offer comfortable and quirky accommodation. Everything is custom built inside by highly skilled craftsmen. The interior decor is luxurious and very shabby chic.  This is brilliantly illustrated by the small details, such as the beautiful wallpaper in the dinette/sleeping area to make her even more gorgeous.

In all seriousness, these models were a credit to their profession.  The eldest, Charlie Matthews, was the picture of British camping chic.  A time when camping holidays meant tennis whites, family activities, and cream-teas (not mud-caked wellingtons, leaking tents, and an endless search for mobile signals)!  She bought an allure to the scene with poise.  Charlie is a constant campaigner for #AutismAcceptance and youth Ambassador for Bullies Out – be sure to follow her Instagram here.

Izzy White, the middle of our young ladies is 12 and has only recently begun modelling (a fact which hasn’t held her back – Roz’s photography has won more awards with photos featuring Izzy more than any other model).  Blessed with bold green almond-shaped eyes, natural freckles and soft, delicate features she is a dream for photographers to work with, not to mention she boasts the gift of versatility. Whilst she is still learning her craft, the ability to represent the every-girl as well as epitomise glamour will prove a valuable asset in her modelling career.

The youngest of the girls, Meicha Lee is only 9 years old!  But already she’s hard to ignore.  As Roz has captured in her photos, Meicha’s thick hair and rich colouring (especially the depth of her eyes and rouge of her lips) are a bold contrast to the natural greenery backdrop.

The youngest of the models is Mitchel, Roz’s son and frequent model in her work.  His photos have also proved frequent winners when Roz’s work is nominated for awards.  Circumstance has often thrust him into the role of model, giving him a wealth of experience despite his age.  His pale features and blond hair give him a mirage of innocence which has been a great fit with the vintage tone of Roz’s award-winning fine arts photography.{headtag:customtag} {/headtag}
